AWC Vienna 2023 due to the unswayable blind tasting system and the strict tasting rules is the most challenging of the world’s renowned wine tasting competitions. 11 376 wines from 1 514 producers out of 42 countries faced the international challenge. We can boast that at the 20th year of the international competition, we achieved – 1 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medail with our wines among strong competition.

The Concours Mondial du Sauvignon is more than just a competition between wine producers. Sauvignon has become an extremely popular grape variety on the international market in recent years. The aim of the competition is to promote this variety, increase production and introduce to public the versatility and diversity of this grape variety. A total of more than 50 judges (winemakers, sommeliers, distributors) representing 20 nationalities took part in the competition. They rated among 1,210 wines that came from 25 countries. Our Sauvignon 2022 scored 86 points out of a possible 100, which is why we can be proud of the silver medal.

Record-breaking 20th edition of the competition. The world’s largest and most influential wine competition, Decanter World Wine Awards results offer surprises and revelations, highlighting growth in quality and consistency. After a record-breaking year for total wines tasted in 2022, the record was topped again this year. Across two weeks, almost 250 international wine experts, including 53 Masters of Wine and 16 Master Sommeliers, come together from 30 nations, judged 18,250 wines from 57 countries. We are proud that our Winery Habsburg achieved 3 bronze medals among high competition.

The primary ambition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is to provide consumers with a guarantee that the wines they have selected and appreciated are of unmistakable quality, offering a pleasant drinking experience. Thirty years of experience have enabled the competition to become a benchmark among international wine competitions. During three days, more than 50 experts representing 20 nationalities evaluated almost 1,200 rosé wines. Wines are evaluated on the basis of quality, without prejudices resulting from labels or prestigious awards. Our Franovka Rosé 2022 scored 85 points out of a possible 100, and won a silver medal, which we are all rightfully proud of.

This year, for the first time, we participated in the 26th annual Americas Food&Beverage Show in Miami with more than 400 exhibitors from 25 countries. We are glad that our participation confirmed that the interest in Slovak wines is also increasing overseas. More than 5000 visitors came to the exhibition from Africa, Asia, Australia, Caribbean, America,…representing agents/brokers, importers, distributors, hotels, restaurants, retailers, etc. AF&B Show creates a unique space for building new business relationships around the world. Our participation in this exhibition brought us not only new experiences, but also new business opportunities, and therefore we believe that Habsburg wines will soon break through and become part of the American wine market.

AWC Vienna 2022 is one of the most important and recognised wine challenges in the world. AWC Vienna 2022 is setting the benchmark for the renowned wine tasting competitions in the world. In the 18th year, 11.342 wines from 1.588 producers out of 43 countries faced the international challenge. We are proud that this year we can also boast of the awards that we achieved with our wines among strong competition – 4 silver medals and 2 seal of approval.

In Asia, wine consumption has increased significantly in recent years. The AWT has become one of the TOP wine challenges in Asia and one of the largest international competitions worldwide. Asia Wine Trophy, with over 4,300 submitted wines, which are tasted and rated by 150 intenational experts, is the continent’s largest wine competition, and the only one overseen by the OIV. It is held yearly in Daejeon, South Korea. At the 10th edition of the Asia Wine Trophy, Sauvignon 2021 won a gold medal and thus boasts a total of 5 medals from this year’s international competitions.

The Berliner Wine Trophy has become Germany’s most influential wine competition and the world’s largest international wine challenge under the patronage of the OIV and the UIOE. The BWT brings well-known producers and distributors from around the world together every year, and the number of samples submitted is steadily growing with almost 15,000 entries a year. The Berliner Wine Trophy meets the highest quality standards and is undoubtedly one of the toughest competitions on the wine scene. At the 26th Berliner Wine Trophy, we were the only winery in Slovakia, which proudly win a gold medal for Frankovka rosé 2021 (we achieved the same success at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles – rosé session, where we were the only Slovak winery which win a gold medal!)

We received once more international recognition of our products’ great quality! The Habsburg wines, were awarded five gold medals at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge 2022 competition, including three double-gold medals (for wines rated 90 or more points).
The Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge is an essential reference for professionals and wine lovers from all over the world. Its objective is to promote and recommend quality wines, representatives of a terroir and the know-how of passionate winemakers.
All wines rated by the Gilbert & Gaillard team are tasted blind. The wines are classified according to their origin, quality level, product category and aroma in a tasting and evaluation according to the international 100-point scheme. Each wine receives a score based on its own qualities. It is then evaluated against all the other wines in its category.
